Our Story
Being The Change We So Desperately Need
Democratic Reporter was founded in 2026 by James Kosur, the former co-founder of HillReporter.com, a news publication he started with Ed Krassenstein and Brian Krassenstein way back in 2019. At the same time, he was serving as the treasurer and senior strategist for the Really American Super Pac, an organization that morphed into a full scale media company with more than 10 million followers.
As politics has continued to change, James recognized the need to build an unapologetic news platform that openly discusses its progressive views and its focus on the left. We don’t mask our political views, and we NEVER compromise.

- No Clickbait. We don’t believe in clickbait. Our stories are written in an inverted pyramid style with a strong lede and the most important facts first.
- Visible corrections. If we get something wrong we report it directly on the article with clear text explaining the original issue and the correction.
